Urban Debris

Wildstyle

Graffiti – a common, misunderstood urban art form.  Some of the designs are so intricate and colourful, its worth while stopping and checking out the detail and planning that has gone into these images or ‘Wildstyles’.  This old, abandoned warehouse in Alexandria is just oozing with thousands of compositions – if only I had the whole day to spend there…  Might get my hep shots before I head in there next time – very old, wet, dingy and a bit spooky in some sections…. One of my favourite locations…  I entered through a broken window with all my gear and then realised, after scoping the area that there was a gate open at the other side of the complex…. hmmmm… a bit of research might’ve saved me a 1.5 storey drop… all worth it!  I’m printing this one up 75″ wide for myself…

Damaged Goods

Was wanting to shoot something different other than seascapes, landscapes, macro – so I headed into Alexandria, crawled through a broken window into this amazing warehouse… loads of empty spray cans littering the joint – was worried about needles, but never found any… loads to shoot, such an interesting place….oh, & I found my TV.  Wonder if insurance will cover the repairs….

Scooter Girl

It’s days like today you don’t mind missing a dusk shoot to spend quality time with the little ones.  Kiara is usually on a beach/headland with me passing me cleaned filters or taking her own photos for her blog, but today she was out hitting it with the boys on the skate ramp.  She is only 2, but goes faster than most 5 yr olds, crashes hard, gets back up and soliders on – with her handbag hung casually on her handlebars of the scooter.

I loved the graffiti in the background of this shot.  She is so lady-like, but a tom boy at the same time.  Very cute to watch.

….& yes, she did go down the ramp once she reached the top!!!!!

This is my capture of the day – hope you enjoy it!
